Hello fellow conspirators!

So, going along with conspiracies in cartoons, a huge one is based on the beloved cartoon series "Adventure Time". This out of the box, weird, and funny cartoon is home to many conspiracy theories. And I mean many! Some just as out of the box as the show, and some that actually make sense. For now I will present the top 5 Adventure Time conspiracy theroies.

5. Finn is really in a coma

So this one is a very popular one according to the internet. The theory is that Finn was a lonely boy ignored by everyone but his loyal dog Jake. When Jake dies, Finn falls into a deep depression and attempts suicide.  Instead of dying, he ends up a coma, where he lives in a perpetual dream state.

4. The show is really Simon Petrikov's Bedtime Stories

As we've seen in the show, Simon (who later becomes the Ice King), was one of young Marceline's only friends. The show also shows that Simon was an archaologist, somone who kind of puts together the story of the past, so I can see him being a natural storyteller. Plus the episodes always involve learning some kind of lesson, so it could be Simon's way of imparting his wisdom to Marceline.

3. Adventure Time and The Misadventures of Flapjack are in the same Universe

This is probably one of my favorite theories, mostly because I am a huge fan of the Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. But the theory goes like this: The Misadventures of Flapjack's dock town ( Stormalong Harbor ), is a town built after the mushroom war mentioned in Adventure Time. It is possibly built out of the wreckage of ships that once sailed in that area of the ocean. The area in which Flapjack is set in was not as badly damaged and set back technology wise as Adventure Time is. I also believe that both of these worlds and their strange events are occuring during at about the same time. This would explain cracks within these shows side stories. Such as the main goal of the characters in Flapjack being to get to Candied Island. But unknown to them is that this is not an island but actually a continent, the one where Adventure Time is set. The Candied Island they saw was actually Candy Kingdom. Peppermint Larry has been to Candy Kingdom, and possibly used Princess Bubblegum as a sort of muse to construct his Candy Wife. But Peppermint Larry is not the only character in Flapjack to go to the Candy Kingdom, just the only one who made it back. Phil, in Adventure Time, used to be an inhabitant of Stormalong harbor, until he somehow shipwrecked into the land of Ooo ( Adventure Time ). This is why he is seen in the city of thieves, as he was one of the many crooks and thieves in Stormalong harbor. Adventure Time though, has not many connections within Flapjack because Finn is afraid of the ocean, where Flapjack takes place.

2. Adventure Time is actually Finn and his dad's role-playing computer game

This is one of the nicest and most believable theories of Adventure Time that I have heard so far. According to the show's creator, Pendleton Ward, much of his influence for the show was based on the game Dungeons and Dragons. But the theory of course goes a little deeper. According to the internet: Jake is really Finn's father and the show is just a D&D game that Jake runs to hang out with his son. Jake is the kind of DM who also keeps a PC there all the time because he can't stand not playing his own game. Mostly he runs the game the way he does because he is always impressed with the strength of Finn's moral core and loves to see that shine even when he puts their characters in tough spots. Ultimately, he always wants to see his son succeed and have fun but he also hopes maybe he can impart some wisdom while they play together. You can even see some of the resemblance between the game and the show.

1. The Great Mushroom War!!

This is one of the greatest and most believable theories of Adventure Time, plus there's even an entire episode to back it up. But here's the breakdown for it so get comfortable, because it's kind of long. As we've seen in a few of the episodes, the great mushroom war started many years back. This was around the time that Simon (Ice King) and young Marceline were struggling to survive the wreckage. The origins of the war remains unknown, but we do know that a huge nuclear bomb set off a whole apocalyptic event.

The episodes "Finn the Human" and "Jake the Dog" support this, as Finn wishes the Lich, a product of the mushroom bomb, never existed. When the wish is granted, Finn is transported to a world where Simon has sacrificed himself to stop the mushroom bomb and freezes the entire Earth in the process. Despite some destruction, without the detonation of the mushroom bomb, humanity continues to exist. Also, in "Finn the Human," Farmworld Marceline suggests that the mushroom bomb likely concluded the war as she states that the world would have been annihilated if Simon had not stopped the bomb with his ice powers.

Despite the destruction from the war, the land slowly began to recover and soon life was once again allowed to freely inhabit the earth. Only a few signs of the nuclear devastation remained in Ooo. One example was in the episode "The Vault," where Shoko helps Princess Bubblegum establish her new kingdom by covering up an irradiated river at the site of the Candy Castle. In the process of covering it up, Shoko becomes disfigured and mutated by the effects of the waste and appears as she had in premonitions in earlier episodes of the series. The episode implies that the Candy Kingdom is built atop a pond of nuclear waste. It may also explain how most of characters in the show exist. Such as walking, talking candy people, wizards, and monsters that don't usually exist in the real world. You can still see evidence of the aftermath in the title sequence:

Of course many can argue there are many loopholes within this theory, but you have to admit, it connects very well.

Have fun reading these awesome theories and leave a comment if you find any more!
